Making a Difference, One Cup at a Time
Coffee is sacred—and its story begins long before it reaches your cup.
In Guatemala, coffee is more than a crop. It’s a tradition passed down through generations, rooted in volcanic mountains and nurtured by patience, labor, and love. The rich soil created by volcanoes and high elevations produces some of the world’s most complex and flavorful coffee.
At Cafe Chula, our coffee comes directly from family-owned farms in Guatemala, where Oscar’s nephews—fourth-generation farmers—work the land and continue the legacy. From seed to harvest, coffee takes three years to grow. Those three years require care, resilience, and trust in the process.
Many Guatemalan farmers endure harsh working conditions and are often not paid fair wages. Cafe Chula is committed to honoring their work by sourcing responsibly, supporting fair pay, and preserving the dignity behind every bean.
Our beans are traditionally roasted over open fire (leña), not electricity—an intentional method that respects heritage and enhances flavor.
This is coffee with history. Coffee with heart. Coffee worth waiting for.
